Memberships and Renewals

The Group is a friendly community that welcomes anyone interested in birding, regardless of experience or location.

We publish a joint annual report with the Isle of Wight Natural History and Archaeological Society (IWNHAS) which covers bird sightings for the previous year and includes papers aimed at furthering the understanding of Island birds. The Group also coordinates input to various national and local surveys, provides ornithological information to interested parties and aims to serve as a focal point for Island birdwatchers. Annual membership, at £12.00 (single or family) or £6.00 (up to 18 years of age), runs from 1st January to the 31st December and includes:

Note: members who subscribe on the 1st October and beyond to the end of the year will automatically become members for the remainder of that year and all of the following year. They will receive the Bird Report published in their full year of membership.

How to subscribe

Please download and complete the Membership Form (MS Word) or Membership Form (PDF) and send with a cheque made payable to the Isle of Wight Ornithological Group to the Chairman/Treasurer (full details in the Membership Form). For any additional information, please contact the Chairman / Treasurer.

Subscription renewals

The renewal subscription rate is £12 for adults/families and £6.00 for younger members (up to 18 years of age).

Subscriptions are due on the 1st January and cover the calendar year.

For all subscription enquiries, please contact the Chairman/Treasurer, details below.

The Group does not operate a Direct Debit scheme, but it would help save administration time and costs if members paid by Standing Order. These are easy to set up using internet banking, or by contacting your bank, and can be cancelled at any time.

One-off payments can also be made if paying membership for the current year. Please specify your surname and initials as the payee reference when making any bank payment, along with notifying the Chairman/Treasurer, by email or letter, of any payments made.

Subscribing by post/cheque

To renew your Isle of Wight Ornithological Group subscription by post, please send your subscription amount (£12 (adult/family) or £6 (child under 18) to the Group Chairman/Treasurer (details below).

Cheques should be made payable to the Isle of Wight Ornithological Group
