Memberships and Renewals
The Group is a friendly community that welcomes anyone interested in birding, regardless of experience or location.
We publish a joint annual report with the Isle of Wight Natural History and Archaeological Society (IWNHAS) which covers bird sightings for the previous year and includes papers aimed at furthering the understanding of Island birds. The Group also coordinates input to various national and local surveys, provides ornithological information to interested parties and aims to serve as a focal point for Island birdwatchers. Annual membership, at £12.00 (single or family) or £6.00 (up to 18 years of age), runs from 1st January to the 31st December and includes:
- Receipt of the Bird Report upon publication.
- Receipt of three Newsletters per year, covering various topics of interest to Island birdwatchers.
- The option to join a text loop (C.R.O.W.S) for rare or scarce birds as they appear on the Island.
- The option to attend monthly guided walk field meetings.
- The option to attend the annual AGM and presentations.
- The option to participate in survey work (e.g. breeding bird survey, garden bird survey, etc.)
Note: members who subscribe on the 1st October and beyond to the end of the year will automatically become members for the remainder of that year and all of the following year. They will receive the Bird Report published in their full year of membership.
